The Schumacher Funeral Home was founded by Ray Schumacher in the Mid-40's.  Donald E. Kish Jr. began working for Ray in 1963 and purchased the funeral home in 1973.  In 1980, a second location was opened in La Crescent, Minnesota at 412 South 3rd Street and in 1984 the La Crosse funeral home moved to its current location at 200 West Avenue South.  The current funeral home is operated by Don's sons, Steve and Scott who purchased a third location at 907 Sand Lake Road in Onalaska in 1995.  Its current staff also includes Tom Glodosky, Arick Hendrickson, Jim Kirchoff, and Jim Koch.
