Leonard G. Wood

Leonard G. Wood, 87 of Bangor, WI died on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility. He was born December 22, 1928 in Cumberland, WI to Chester and Lucy (Rowen) Wood. Leonard was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
On April 23, 1945 he married Joyce Baker in La Crosse and she preceded him in death in 2004. Leonard was an artist of many mediums, a jack of all trades and a master of none.
Survivors include his six children; Vickie (Virgil) Olson of Hixton, WI, Joyce Devenport of La Crosse, Muriel “Cookie” Wood (fiancé, Dave Newman) of Viroqua, Bill (LaVonne) Wood of La Crosse, Donald (Betty) Grotte of St. Francis, MN and Dennis (Lorie) Wood of Holcombe, WI; 24 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife Joyce, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Gage; a son-in-law, Randy Gage; a sister, Rose Ann Wood,a brother,Donald Wood, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
A celebration of life will be held from 3-5 PM Sunday, May 1st at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse.
