Anita G. Lorenz

Anita G. Lorenz, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. She was born July 15, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI to Elvin and Ruth Berger.

Anita was married to William Lorenz of Hokah, MN on April 23, 1966. Anita was a nurse LPN, a job she put on hold as she had 4 children and became a mother and house wife, eventually returning to her profession in later years. Willie and Anita owned a dairy farm where they raised their children. Anita was very diligent when it came to raising her children in the Christian faith. She had an unwavering love for her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved reading and nothing more than spending an afternoon enjoying a good book. She also enjoyed a good thrift sale or rummage sale, bringing home her treasures we are sorting through to this day. She was a member of her local Homemakers and enjoyed the company of her good friends at their events.

Anita is survived by her children, Laura (Jeff) Jorstad, Steven (Shelley) Lorenz, Chris (Amy) Lorenz, and Ann Lorenz; 10 grandchildren, Nate, Sky, Alissa, Justin, Brooke, Lukas, Abigail, Brandon, Chelsea, and Cassie; and great-grandchildren, Aurora, Freya, Cooper, Lincoln, Oliver, and one on-the-way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lorenz; parents, Ruth (Johnson) Berger and Elvin Berger; brother, Brian Berger; and grandchildren Jeremy Lorenz and Nicholas Lorenz.

Services will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 at First Lutheran Church in La Crescent, MN. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Convent Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Anita's memory may be made to the Hokah Public Library in her honor.
