Anthony “Tony” John Murphy of La Crescent, MN passed away on May 16, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born on February 26, 1945 in Paignton, England to Richard and Marcelle Murphy. Tony served as a Military Police officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received multiple commendations for his service.

Tony grew up in Randolph, MA where he met his wife of 54 years, Judy. They eventually settled in La Crescent, MN where they raised their children. Tony worked as a supervisor at Torrance Casting until the time of his retirement. His retirement was filled with golf, golf and even more golf along with yearly trips to NC with family.

Tony’s surviving family includes his loving wife, Judy, his children Ryan Murphy, Heather (Dean) Barak, and Richard (Beverly) Tellier, his 9 cherished grandchildren Bryce Murphy, Emma Osley, Trae Murphy, Jasmine (Sam) Landstrom, Storm Tellier, Ritchie Tellier, Anthony Tellier, Samantha Tellier and Brock Tellier and 6 great-grand children, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Craig (Roz) Murphy, stepmother Nancy Trip, and sisters Kelly (Darrin) Fry, Cheri (Gregory) Bell and Sister-in-Law Jackie Whitehurst.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marcelle, sisters-in-laws Jenny Harris and Diane Donlan, and brother-in-law Ronald Whitehurst.

There will be no service. A private family gathering will be held to honor Tony’s life.
