Betty Marie (Johnson) Haas, age 98, passed away on July 11, 2026. She was born on September 17, 1927, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She graduated from Logan High School in 1945. Betty was married to Robert Haas for 63 years and had two daughters.

Throughout her life, Betty was an avid reader, loved animals -especially dogs, dancing, and loved sharing her sense of humor. She spent her early years living in Waterloo, Iowa, where she and her husband, Bob, owned a business. Betty lived a life being active in politics, volunteering for Head Start and Catholic Charities. 

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Robert) Wieman and Cheryl (Tom) Leonard; sister Beverly (Peter) Lorentzen; three grandsons, Matthew and Brendan Wieman, and Dylan (Lana) Leonard; great-grandchildren Christian, Samual, Maxwell Wieman, C.J. (Daniela) Madden, and Kyle Leonard; great-great-granddaughters Calliope and Callista; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Margaret Johnson; husband, Bob; sisters-in-law Evelyn Couhlin, Margaret Haas, Blanche Haas, and Jeanette Padesky; brothers-in-law Leonard, Russell, Donald, James Haas, and Glen Wells. 

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, where Betty was a longtime member. Details about service times will come at a later date. 

The family is grateful for the care and kindness shown by Lily Hospice and Orchard Hills staff for taking excellent care of Betty.
