Carl Everson, 97, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Mabel, Minnesota. A devoted follower of Jesus and a quiet source of wisdom to those who knew him, Carl lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and service. Born to William Everson and Sylvia (O'Brien) on January 15, 1928, in Viroqua, Wisconsin, Carl grew up surrounded by the values that would guide him throughout his life. He answered the call to serve his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army, demonstrating courage and commitment that remained hallmarks of his character.
Carl was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. His faith was central to his life—he found joy in reading scripture and listening to sermons on his computer. His spiritual devotion provided strength not only for himself but also for those around him.
He was married to Connie Everson, with whom he shared many years before her passing. Together they built a family that became Carl’s greatest pride. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Cari Poellinger and Carol (Jeff) Fearnow, his grandchildren Alison (Eric) Petersen, John Elliot Poellinger, Mitchell (Leslie) Poellinger, Chad (Kella) Fearnow and Steve Fearnow. Carl’s legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Ty and Avery Petersen; Kiley Jo Poellinger; Max Poellinger; and Brady, Lela, and Maddie Fearnow. Carl is also survived by his siblings Laverne, Lois, and Harold. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Connie; brothers Leland, Martin, and Clifford; and sister Beulah.
Known for his love of tinkering and solving what seemed like impossible problems, Carl approached life with patience and curiosity. Whether offering quiet guidance or fixing something others had given up on, he brought calm determination to every challenge.
The family would like to share our gratitude for the compassion and care Carl received the past few years of his life in the Green Lea nursing home in Mabel, MN. Their love and support for Carl is so appreciated and will not be forgotten.
May Carl’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire those who carry forward the values he lived by.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 – 7 PM on Friday, August 1st, 2025 at Wieser Park, 1817 County Road 6, La Crescent, MN.
