Carl H. Deml

Carl H. Deml, 92, of West Salem, WI passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Bethany – St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. He was born on December 25, 1932 – Christmas Day – to John and Lotus (Schubert) Deml. He graduated from high school in 1953. He joined the U.S. Army and served from 1953 – 1955, stationed in Germany. On June 8, 1957 Carl was united in marriage to Farrel Harris. Carl was employed by the Trane Co. in La Crosse for 37 years.

Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing cards with so many family and friends. He was a member of American Legion Post 52, Fraternal Order of Eagles, REAC and the Moose Lodge. Religion was very important to Carl. He was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in West Salem and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bangor for many years. Being season ticket owners, Carl and Farrel attended many Green Bay Packer games over the years. Those tickets will be passed on to family members for their enjoyment also.

Carl is survived by his wife, Farrel, daughter Anita (Ronald) Smith and their children Ronelle (Darren) McVey, Samuel (Ashley) Smith, son-in-law Joe Groshek, son Mark and his children Sean and Shelby, great grandchildren Beth, Duke, Owen and Ben Deml. He is also survived by a sister Mona Colera of San Diego, a brother Richard of Onalaska, brother-in-law Ronald Harris, sisters-in-law Mardi and Bonnie, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Allissa (Smith) Groshek, in-laws Henry and Edna Harris, brothers John, Jr. (Doris), Robert (Carol), Raymond (Arlene), Norman (Janice), Donald, Earl (Christine), and Gordon, a sister LaVon (Ronald) Brague, brother-in-law Anthony Colera, sisters-in-law Phyllis Johnson and Lois Harris.

In keeping with Carl’s wishes there will be no services.
