Carla J. Johnson

Carla J. Johnson, 92, of Holmen, WI., died on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Caretta Senior Living in Holmen. She was born in Houston, MN, on March 22, 1934 to John and Avis (Tietz) Anderson. She married Gordon Johnson on November 5, 1955. They moved to La Crescent, MN., shortly afterward and they lived in La Crescent for most of their lives.

Carla was a nurse’s aide for several years before starting a family, when she became a full time homemaker. After retirement, she and Gordon travelled to craft shows where they sold oak furniture made by Gordon. She was an avid reader and also volunteered at Gifted Hands.

She is survived by her two daughters, Joni of Holmen, and Lisa (Patrick Benway) of Vail, CO.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Prince of Peace Cemetery, La Crescent, MN. A memorial gathering will be held at the Wieser Park Pavilion, 1817 Co. Rd. 6, La Crescent, MN 55947 immediately following the graveside service.
