Carol L. Broadbent

November 21, 1939 — March 14, 2026

La Crosse

Carol (Adamany) Broadbent, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She was born on November 21, 1939 in Janesville, Wisconsin, to Evelyn and William Adamany.

Carol spent her life working in creative and people-centered roles. She was an interior decorator, owned a gift shop, and also managed a clothing store in Prairie du Chien where she lived for many years. She had a natural sense of style and took pride in helping others create beauty and comfort in their homes and lives. Carol returned to Janesville to care for her parents until their passing, then moved to La Crosse in 2016 to be closer to her daughter Stacey and her family.

In her later years, Carol lived in an apartment she dearly loved and where she found great comfort and independence. After a short stay at Riverside Transitional Care in La Crosse, where she received hospice care for several weeks, she passed peacefully surrounded by love.

Carol leaves behind her loving family: her daughter Teri (and son-in-law Mike); her son Mark (and Leanne); and her daughter Stacey (and son-in-law Troy). She was also deeply loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory. Carol is also survived by her brother William (Andrea) Adamany; sister Nancy (James) Strommen; and her beloved 22-year-old cat, Casey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and William Adamany; her beloved daughter, Tami; and three grandsons.

Carol will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she had for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church, 233 West Avenue South, La Crosse, WI 54601. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Chipmunk Coulee Cemetery in Stoddard, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be preferred to First Presbyterian Church in La Crosse, The Salvation Army in La Crosse, or Rivers and Bluff Animal Rescue in Prairie du Chien, WI.

Carol had a huge, caring, generous heart and always wished somehow she had the means to give—this can be her way of doing so.
