Carol J. Jerome

Carol J. Jerome, 94, of La Crescent, MN passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at La Crescent Health Services. She was born in Sparta, WI on July 29, 1931, to Owen and Eda (Martin) Williams. Carol was a loving wife to her husband, Wayne, whom she married on March 2, 1948 in Winona, MN. Together they raised three boys. Wayne preceded her in death on April 10, 2001. Carol spent her working career with the Ready Bus Co. as a bus aide, riding along with students during the week, liked going on casino trips on weekends, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Carol is survived by her children, Dennis of Grand Rapids, MN, Terry of La Crescent, MN, and Dale (Vicky) of West Salem, WI; five grandchildren, Chris (Jill) Jerome, Josh (Jenna) Jerome, and Kate, Anne, and Tess Jerome; great grandchildren, Shauntel, Alexis, MicKenzy, Little DJ, and Esmeralda (Jeremy); great great grandchildren, Cooper Jerome, Henry, and Oliver Oberg; brother, LaVern (Jan) Williams of Sparta, WI; and many nieces and nephews and grandma to many.

Carol was preceded in death by five brothers, Loren, Robert, Harley, Donald, and Kenneth Williams; and three sisters, Charlotte Izard, Connie Akinson, and Shirley Smith.

Carol’s family would like to give a special thank you to Carol Zibrowski, other special friends, and the care team at La Crescent Health Services for the love and care they showed to Carol.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the La Crescent United Methodist Church. Pastor Chris Leistra will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Carol will be buried next to Wayne at the Rockland Cemetery in Rockland, WI.
