Carol Beth Popelka (née Coupal) died peacefully in her sleep, at her home in La Crosse, Wisconsin, surrounded by loving family, on Monday, February 2nd, 2026. Her Celebration of Life will be held at the First Congregational UCC on Main St. in La Crosse on Tuesday, March 31st. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Friends of the Refuge, Mississippi River Pools 7 & 8, the Riverside International Friendship Gardens, or Wisconsin Public Television.
