Celia P. Stoltz (written by Celia Stoltz)

Celia P. Stoltz, age 83 of La Crescent, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026 at home with her family by her side. She was born into the amazing world to loving and devoted parents, Robert and Katherine (Covert) Carr on January 13, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI.

She graduated from Arrowhead High School, Hartland, WI, and UW-Madison in 1966. She met her forever love, Richard “Dick” Stoltz when they were both employed by the Wisconsin State Employment Service. Fate put them on a mobile office unit where he had no chance of escape. But he can tell you that story. They were married on February 15, 1969 and were blessed with 4 incredible children. She was ever thankful for bringing their wonderful spouses into her life; Alicia with Sam Gorski (favorite son-in-law), Kevin with his Sangkhone, Kurt with his Amanda, and Eric with his Lisa. And then the beautiful bonus of grandchildren; Eric and Lisa’s Ella and Griffin, Kurt and Amanda’s Sadie, Alicia and Sam’s Gunnar and Maxwell, and Kevin and Sangkhone's Carter, Caitlin, and Chloe.

A person generally shares more years of their life with siblings than anyone else, parents, spouse or children. Take care of each other.

She is survived by her dear brother Robert Carr and his wife Marcia (Hanson); her heart sister, and their 3 boys, Robbie and Katie (Kringle), Tim and Dana (Anderson) and Greg and Karin (Wessel) and all their children who all make her heart smile. And Richard’s sister, Alice and husband George Wolske, with their son Derek and wife Yuko (Sano) who made her heart laugh.

Friends become chosen family too, those wonderful people you meet along life’s way and they’ve been blessed with many. This beautiful family and extended family sticks together glued by love and respect.

I’ve been totally blessed with my life and wouldn’t change a thing.

A celebration of life will be held at the family summer cottage on Washington Island on Saturday, September 26 from 1 to 5 pm in the afternoon.
