Charles “Charlie, Chuck” F. Anderson, age 90 of La Crosse, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Benedictine Manor. He was born December 17, 1935 in Dunbar, WI to the late Eldred and Lucille (Smith) Anderson.
Charlie served proudly in the U.S. Navy and after his discharge, he dedicated his entire career to the plumbing business. He worked as a manufacturer’s representative for Burton-Anderson out of Green Bay and New Berlin, eventually serving as Vice President, then President of the company.
He was a member of the Optimist Club in Green Bay and a volunteer at the Salvation Army. He also served on church council at Grace Lutheran in Green Bay and Shepherd of the Hills in Onalaska. Charlie was an avid hunter, taking several trips out West. He also enjoyed being involved with Boy Scouts with his sons.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Marla French; four children, Candace (Bob) Allen, Randall (Michelle) Anderson, Sandra (Mark) Maslinski, and Andrew (Holly) Anderson; step-children, Douglas (Sara) French, Jana (Peter Gotsch) French, Melissa (David Stephenson) French-Stephenson, and Ryan (Jennifer) French; grandchildren, B.J. Allen, Bobbie (Lindsey) Allen, Hannah (Brendan) Hein, Ave Maslinski, Ransom Maslinski, Carson Anderson, Madeline Anderson, and MacKenna Anderson; step-grandchildren, Will (Emily) French, Abby French, Olivia Gotsch, Tom Gotsch, James Stephenson, Sam Stephenson, Tilda French, and Margot French; and great-grandchildren, Danika Allen, Bohanen Allen, Finley Allen, Emmy Allen, and Audri Allen; many nieces and nephews; and his brother, William (Dianne) Anderson.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Rita in 2011; his parents; daughter-in-law, Lisa Anderson; son-in-law, Brian Jost; and siblings, E. Joan Anderson, Annetta Downs, and Thomas Anderson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1215 Redwood St, Onalaska, WI 54650. Visitation will be held from 9:30am until the time of the service. Burial will take place at 11:00am, Friday, June 12, 2026 at Ft. Howard Cemetery in Green Bay. Please arrive around 10:30am for a brief gathering.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Grace Lutheran Church, Shepherd of the Hills Church, or to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers at Benedictine and Emplify Hospice for the care they provided Charlie.
