Darrel R. Woolley, 57, of Winona, MN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in his home. He was born on November 6, 1967 in La Crosse, WI to Darrel H. and Cheryl L. (Kennicott) Greeno. He was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in La Crosse, WI. He graduated from La Crescent High School where he played several sports. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the scout program. He attended WWTC in La Crosse for engineering. Darrel served in the U.S. Navy, becoming in an aviation specialist. While stationed in Hawaii he fought in the Gulf War earning many stars, ribbons and commendations. He managed Stripes Bar in Minnesota City, worked at Lawrence Transportation and Fastenal before finding his favorite job at Hal Leonard, where he became supervisor.
Darrel liked to play in air bands with friends. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, dart tournaments and putting puzzles and models together. He loved his family, friends and the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his mother Cheryl Greeno, brothers Brian Woolley (Hilery), Brian (Jeannie) Greeno and Dan (Sue) Greeno, niece Alyssa Woolley, nephew Josh Greeno, an uncle and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Darrel H. Woolley and stepfather Harold E. Greeno.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 111 S. Oak St., La Crescent. Pastor Lisa Shank will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Dresbach, MN. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service.
