It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dave Pehl, a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend, who left us far too soon on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Dave had a passion for cooking, especially recreating family favorites from Grandma Audrey and Granny’s. He loved spending time with his family, always eager to help anyone in need. His laughter and silly antics were contagious—he lit up any room he entered. His faith shined brightly through his daily actions and kindness toward others.
Dave had a love for travel and adventure. He turned simple trips into unforgettable memories. He believed that the best adventures were the ones shared with the people he loved most, and he found beauty in every corner of the world he explored.
Dave had a gift for humor and joy. Whether dressing up as Mullet Pig or performing his comedy acts on stage, he never cared if he looked silly—as long as people were smiling. He dedicated his time and heart to many causes, including Susan G. Komen, Beer By Bike Brigade, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Army National Guard. His passions for the Minnesota Vikings, woodworking, fishing, pheasant hunting, and saving lives working on the safety team at La Crosse Speedway were important to him.
Dave’s love for Jessica, David, and Madelynne was unbreakable. The bond they shared was one of pure love, laughter, and strength. His advocacy for people with disabilities and his excitement for starting Turners Ridge Wood Workz with his son, David, reflected his generous heart and endless drive. He had countless dreams and ideas for their future together. Before starting Turners Ridge Wood Workz, Dave worked as a police officer for the University of Wisconsin – Parkside and the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse until his retirement from law enforcement.
There wasn’t a person who met Dave who didn’t love him. He was kind, compassionate, and selfless—a man who always looked out for others before himself. His caring spirit touched the lives of so many, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Never was a man loved by so many!!
