Dennis Quentin McInerny passed away in his Caledonia Street apartment on December 11, 2025. He was 89 years old, the fifth son of Austin and Vivian (Rush) McInerny.
Dennis joined the Navy and served for 4 years. After the Navy, he spent his life as a scholar and professor of Philosophy and Theology at St. Thomas College in St. Paul, MN, Bradley University in Peoria, IL, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Lincoln, NE. Dennis had a PhD from a university in Cork, Ireland, Notre Dame, and the University of Minnesota. He retired in La Crosse, WI, to be near the Coulombe family, to whom he was dearly attached.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers: Roger, Raymond, Ralph, Austin, and Stephen. He is survived by his brother, Maurice Patrick (Diane), his sisters, Mary Margaret Williams (Patrick) and Theresa Coulombe (Mike), 32 beloved nephews and nieces, and numerous friends.
Dennis was a faithful Catholic, a daily communicant, and an awesome and loving example to his extended family. He will forever be in our hearts.
A mass of Christian burial will be at St. James Catholic Church on December 18, 2025. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., with Mass starting at 11:00 a.m.
