Dolores Ann Slungaard

Dolores "Lori" Ann Slungaard (91) of La Crosse, WI passed away on August 21st, 2025, at Brookdale Sterling House in La Crosse, under the care of Gundersen Hospice.

Dolores was born on March 31st,1934 to George and Catherine Yost in La Crosse, WI. After graduating from Aquinas High School in 1952, she went on to study at St. Francis Nursing School. After graduation, she spent her career as a registered nurse with Gundersen Health System until retiring in 1985.

Dolores married Ken Balzer in 1955 and had two daughters. They later divorced. She married Dr Rolv Slungaard in 1982.

She is survived by daughters Kathy Brieske and Diane (Dave) Hammond, sisters Therese Bruseth and Rita (Joe) Hoesley and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Dr Rolv Slungaard, son in law Bob Brieske, granddaughter Amanda Brieske and brother Richard Yost.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
