Edward A. Bathke, Jr. “Chip”, left us way too soon on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at this home in La Crosse. He was born January 18, 1966 to Edward A. Sr. and Marge Bathke (Luedtke). His big blue eyes and curly blond hair and happy personality made him easy to love. A little out-doorsy guy, he would follow the garbage truck, street sweeper, or any big truck that happened to drive by his house. He was a constant companion to his brothers and big sister, growing up in Onalaska.
He attended Onalaska elementary, middle and high schools where he made many life long friends. Chip and his brother, Kevin, found work in the summers helping area farmers working in their fields and shoveling snow in the winters.
Later in life, Chip worked many different jobs; Badger Corrugating, bar tending, maintenance duties and other janitorial positions. He liked to keep busy and hang out with his co-workers and friends. You could find him at Shimmy’s or Dewey’s helping out and being ready to go on bus trips to games or concerts. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Packers and Brewers; Bucks and Badgers, too.
Chip is survived by his brother Ken of Pennsylvania, niece Erin (Reese) Lang, (Brianne and Philip), nephews Adam of La Crosse, and Dustin (Nicole) of Milwaukee (Sandler and Berklee). Also, a long time special friend Jessica (Brandon), and many, many more good friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward Sr., a sister Kathy, two brothers Kevin and Kirk; and two half brothers Gary and Mark. Chip was soon reunited with his mother Marge (Luedtke) Witt in Heaven when she passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Rest in peace, Chip, we will miss you.
