Farrel K. Deml, 93, of West Salem, WI, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Bay Harbor in La Crescent, MN, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 15, 1932 to Henry and Edna (Prindle) Harris. On June 8, 1957 she was united in marriage to Carl Deml. After her education for secretarial work, she was employed by attorneys, the District Attorney’s office, and eventually was the Clerk of Courts for La Crosse County. A position which she enjoyed very much.
Farrel enjoyed bowling, fishing, sewing, and playing cards in several groups. After retirement, Farrel and Carl traveled to several countries with friends. They also had Green Bay Packers season tickets, so they attended several games.
Farrel is survived by her daughter, Anita (Ronald) Smith, their children, Ronelle (Darren) McVey, Samuel (Ashley) Smith, and son-in-law Joseph Groshek, her son Mark and his children Sean and Shelby Deml, four great-grandchildren, Beth, Duke, Owen, and Ben. Farrel is also survived by her brother Ronald Harris, sisters-in-law, Romona Colera, Mardi Deml, and Bonnie Deml, brother-in-law Richard Deml, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her granddaughter Allissa Groshek, her parents, Henry and Edna Harris, her in-laws, John and Lotus Deml, a sister Phyllis (Lester) Johnson, her brothers-in-law, John (Doris) Deml J., Robert (Carol) Deml, Raymond (Arlene) Deml, Norman (Janice) Deml, Earl (Christine) Deml, Donald Deml, Gordon Deml, Ronald (LaVon) Brague, and Tony Colera, and sisters-in-law Lois Harris and Janice Deml.
In keeping with Farrel’s wishes there will be no services.
