Gary G. Priem

Gary George Priem, 72, of Onalaska, WI, passed away on August 15, 2026. He was born June 7, 1954, in Neenah, WI, the son of George and Dorothy (Krueger) Priem. Gary was baptized on June 20, 1954, and confirmed on April 7, 1968.

Gary graduated from Shawano High School in 1972, and after working in farming and construction, went on to UW– La Crosse, earning a Bachelor’s in Business Administration - Accounting.

Gary married Denise (Hille) on August 11, 1979, in Shawano, WI.

He started his working career on a dairy farm, worked numerous construction jobs, including building silos, and finished his career working for many years in Finance at the Trane company and Care Wisconsin. He retired in February of 2020.

Gary especially loved outdoor activities including hunting and fishing, spending time in his workshop, and watching his children and grandchildren grow. Gary was also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Holmen, WI.

Survivors include his wife Denise Priem, children Patrick (Jessica) Tokarski, Megan (Ben) Berg, Paul (Michelle) Priem; grandchildren Grace (Ben Crabtree) Berg, Caleb Priem, Evelyn Berg; sisters Eva Sand, Peggy (Steven) Janke, brother-in-law Arthur Callies; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Gary in death are his parents George and Dorothy Priem, sister Nancy Callies, and brother-in-law Keith Sand.

A Christian Funeral will be held August 22nd at 12:00 pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1500 Sand Lake Road, Holmen, WI. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral, starting at 11:00 am. Pastor Mark Rieke will be officiating. Interment will be at a future date in Shawano, WI.
