George F. Walinski

George F. Walinski, of Onalaska, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 2:30 AM at the Riverside Transitional Care. He was born on January 29, 1927 in Winona, MN to Henry and Mary (Przybylski) Walinski. George married Genevieve Vereb on November 14, 1951 in Milwaukee, WI. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy.

George was in the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union for 37 years. He was proud to be a member of Local 344, L200, L120, L199, and L695, retiring as Business Representative.

George is survived by his daughter-in-law, Nola (Schuh) Walinski of Onalaska, two grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney) Walinski of Lorton, VA and Nikki (Jay) VanderHeiden of Greenleaf, WI, three great-grandchildren, Jayla, Calli, and Jaxon Walinski of Lorton, VA, and friend Mike Fries of Onalaska. George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Genny (Genevieve) Walinski in 2011, his son Glenn Walinski in 2024, his brother Joe and his three sisters, Syl, Bernice, and Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of Onalaska. Military honors will follow by Onalaska American Legion Post 336 and lunch will be provided at the Onalaska American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Committal services will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Online guestbook is available at www.schumacher-kish.com.
