James Michael Clements (Jim), 59, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Jim was born on March 15, 1966, to John and Bonnie Clements in Madison, Wisconsin.
Being an “Air Force Brat,” Jim spent his younger years in various parts of the country with his sisters and brother (Lori, John, Julie). He spent his youth being carefree and fun-loving. He and his siblings could spend hours sharing stories about the years they shared growing up together.
When his father retired from the Air Force in 1975, Jim found himself in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he and his siblings continued their care-free, fun-loving ways. Jim graduated from Central High School in 1984.
Twice married, Jim was a father to Cassondra, James, Sara, and Brittany. He cherished his children and loved them all dearly.
Throughout his lif,e Jim had no hobbies or pastimes that he pursued seriously. He did enjoy a good concert and a good party from time to time and never turned down a chance to be with friends and family. He earned a reputation as a “speech maker” (especially during family events) and enjoyed dancing to whatever music flowed through the air.
Jim was a compassionate person with a heart of gold. He never missed a day of calling his mother and always ended the conversation with a heartfelt, “Love Ya”.
His love for his children and family knew no boundaries. He had the reputation of being a hard worker. He would share stories of his work with his family and talk of the friends he worked with.
Jim is survived by his mother Bonnie, children Sara (Tyler) Garavalia, Brittany Clements (Zach), and Cassondra and James Trautsch. He is also survived by his brother John (Rhonda) Clements, sisters Lori (Dan) Turner and Julie (Damon) Lecheler. Nieces Deanna, Leah, Jenna, and Lindsey. Nephews JJ, Nick, and Aaron. (Jim’s nieces and nephews often called him “Funcle Jim,” referring to the fun and playful banter he had with them.). He is preceded in death by his father, John, and niece, Kimberly.
Jim, our father, our son, our brother, uncle, and friend, will be missed dearly by all.
A gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, from 2:00 – 3:30 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse.
