James (Jim) Nagle, 78, of Onalaska, peacefully passed away at home after a brief illness amidst ongoing health complications. He was born in La Crosse, Wis., on November 26, 1947, to Edward and Elrose (Murphy) Nagle, Jr. After graduating from Logan High School and attending UW-La Crosse for some time, Jim proudly served in the Air Force for four years, spending time in Turkey and on the island of Crete. After returning from service, he worked as a Brewhouse Computer Operator at the G. Heileman Brewing / Pabst Brewing Company for roughly 30 years. He briefly returned to the brewery once City Brewery opened, after graduating from Western Technical College with an Associates Degree in the IT Computer Support Specialist program, before retiring. He was a long time active member and volunteer of St. Patrick’s church in Onalaska, WI., playing a large part in the Lenten Fish Fry for many years. He was also active in volunteering at the American Legion Post 52, and was proud to be a member of the American Legion Post 52 Honor Squad.

Most recently, Jim treasured watching his grandchildren Kate and Andy play sports, particularly thankful for being able to stream / watch their hockey games online. He loved spending time with family at events like sibling birthday dinners and camping. He also cherished spending time with the McGraw family over the years, whether camping, hunting, or just telling stories. Additionally, he looked forward to weekend video chats with his sons, Eric and Mark. Over the last couple of years, he enjoyed socializing with his neighbors, often attending Monday’s social hours at his apartment complex.

Jim is survived by Eric and Mark (Anna), and grandchildren Kate and Andy. He is also survived by siblings Pat (Gerry) Christianson, Cheryl Crawford, Barb (Steve) Hoff, Debbie (Dean) Seidel, Kerri Nagle, and Janet Bahr (fiancé Scott Finch), sister-in-law Jeanette Nagle and his many McGraw in-laws. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Dee-Dee, parents Ed and Elrose Nagle, brothers Randy, Scott, and triplets Kent, Kevin, and Kurt Nagle, sister Donna (Floyd) Johnson; and in-laws Father-in-law Paul McGraw, Mother-in-law Lois McGraw, brothers-in-law Dave Crawford and Floyd Johnson, sister-in-law Vicki McGraw and nephew Justin McGraw.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the La Crosse American Legion Post 52 Honor Squad, Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, St. Clare Mission, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

His family would like thank Dr. Molling and Dr. Rademacher, in particular, for their care throughout the years, and the incredible hospice care team from Agrace Hospice that helped Dad and us, through his final stages. They were so caring and a true comfort to him.
