Jean D. Herlitzka

Jean Herlitzka, 90, of Onalaska, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at Eagle Crest Senior Living Facility North. Jean was born May 11, 1936, to Wallace and Arline Keily of West Salem. She grew up in La Crosse and graduated from Central High School in 1953. On July 30, 1955, she was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Herlitzka at St. John’s United Church, and they began their life together.

During the early years of her marriage, Jean focused on establishing a home that fostered the development and education of her children. Later, as time allowed, she helped support the family and community by working at Degen-Berglund Pharmacy and Gundersen Clinic.

She and Dick enjoyed dancing, card playing, and she was an avid and accomplished bowler. In retirement, she took up golfing, and you could find her with friends or Dick on one of the many regional golf courses several times each week.

Jean is survived by her two children; Scott (Michele) of Orlando Florida, and Carrie (Paul) of Holmen; two grandchildren, Adam (Jessica) and Alison (John) both of Orlando; and two great-grandchildren, John Michael III & Anderson, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters Barbara and Judy, and brother Keith.
