Jeanette K. Harvey

Jeanette "Jean" K. Harvey, 83, of La Crosse, WI, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026.

She was born on March 30, 1943, in Savanna, IL, to Jerrold F. and Ruth M. Harvey while her father was working in that city at an ordnance depot. She was raised in Pickwick, MN, and attended grade school there through sixth grade, after which time she attended school in Winona, where she graduated in 1961. She then attended Winona Secretarial School and graduated from the medical secretary course in June 1962 and was immediately hired at Gundersen Clinic in La Crosse, WI. She worked there for almost 46 years, retiring in 2008.

She was a confirmed member of St. Luke's in Pickwick, and after moving to La Crosse, she joined Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth; a sister, Marie of Kent, WA; brothers Lee (Janet) of Quincy, IL, and Kendal (Cheryl) of Winona, MN; Sue Hull of Quincy, IL; nephew, Andrew Harvey of Winona, MN; niece Michelle (David) Felten and their son, Damian, of rural Dakota, MN; niece Kelly J Griffin of Shoreline, WA; nephew Patrick Griffin (Kalyn); great niece Ashlee of Bellingham, WA; and niece Leslie (Paul) Williamson and their daugther, Juna, and son, Boone, of Rocheport, MO; and many cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her father; grandparents Roy and Elsie Greenwood, and Loyd and Mande Harvey; brother Jerrold "Jiggs"; and brother-in-law Duane.

A visitation will be held at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 111 S Oak St, La Crescent, MN 55947, on Friday, August 28, at 10:00, with a service beginning at 11:00. Burial will take place at Pickwick Cemetery following services, and there will be a luncheon that immediately follows burial at St. Luke's Church in Pickwick. 

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials/donations may be given to a local food pantry, Mount Calvary Tuition Fund, or a charity of your choice.
