Jimmy R. Berekvam

Jimmy R. Berekvam, 81, of La Crosse, WI passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on July 20, 1943 in Prairie du Sac, WI to Rasmus and Cora (Hasleiet) Berekvam. He married Ann Breidel on January 8, 1972. He was employed by La Crosse Footwear for thirty-three years before retiring. Jimmy love deer hunting, Trout fishing, camping and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann, daughter Lisa Berekvam, son Jeffrey (Nadia) Berekvam, two grandchildren Travis Winchester and Tiffany Winchester. He is further survived by sisters Alice Lea and Evie Korsten, brother Doug Berekvam, brother-in-law Dick Clements and sister-in-law Bev Breidel. He was preceded in death by sisters Millie (Nub) Conrad, Avis (Arnold) Schrandt, Esther (Wally) Hadley, Rosie (Palmer) Olson and Diane Clements, brother Ron (Judy) Berekvam and brother-in-law Arnold Breidel.

The family would like to thank the staff at Gundersen ER, Medical/Oncology on 6th floor, Town of Campbell EMT’s and the care givers from BrightStar.

There will a visitation on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Schumacher – Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. S. La Crosse. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Pastor Roger Sachs will officiate.
