Joanne M. Bagniefski

Joanne (Temp) Bagniefski, 95, of La Crosse, WI died on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Eagle Crest South.

She was born February 5, 1930 in La Crosse to Bernie (Fuchs) and Artie Temp. Joanne graduated from Aquinas High School in 1948 and attended UW-La Crosse before working for the local phone company. She married Bob “Hoot” Bagniefski in February 1954.

Joanne was a homemaker extraordinaire. She cooked elaborate meals and baked delicious treats for friends and family. She kept an immaculate home, sewed adorable dresses for her two daughters when they were toddlers and was a gracious hostess. She and Bob had an extensive circle of lifelong friends. They enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and rooting for the Packers. Joanne was a devout Catholic who was very involved with Mary, Mother of the Church Parish (St. Thomas More) and was always happy to help a friend.

Joanne is survived by two daughters, Susan Bagniefski and her partner Allen Poe of Hanover, PA and Julie Bagniefski and her husband Tony Kramer of Berkeley, CA; a son, Jim and his wife Katie (Larkin) Bagniefski of La Crosse; five grandsons, Sam and Kirsten (Domer) Bagniefski of Minneapolis, Tom and Katie (Ferrier) Bagniefski of La Crescent, Rob and Laura (Olson) Bagniefski of La Crosse, Dan and Taylor (Watson) Bagniefski of Onalaska, and Reuben Kramer of Berkeley, CA; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Jack and Sophie Bagniefski of La Crescent; and many nieces and nephews.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Bob, and her brother, Jim Temp of Green Bay.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 2:00-3:30pm at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave So., La Crosse. Memorials may be given to Aptiv.
