John P. Cook

John P. Cook, 64 of rural Sparta, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born, April 24, 1959, in La Crosse to Ralph and Lucille (Schlaver) Cook.

On August 2, 1986, he married Sheryl Briggs in La Crosse. John had worked on the road crew for the Ho-Chunk Nation for many years. He was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed all forms of auto racing, especially Go-Karting. He also loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them doing many activities.

John is survived by his gorgeous wife, Sheryl; his two amazing brothers, Jim and Steve; three sons, Chaz, AJ, and Kenny and two beautiful Daughters, Jaime and Mary Jane. Additionally, he is also survived by his two terrific Son-in-laws, Jerry Jr. and Mike; a wonderful daughter-in-law, Erica; as well as his amazing Grandchildren, Jerry III, Brett, Cheyenne, Stephanie, Jennifer, Dekotah, Payton, Kadence, Dominic, Landon and Kaden; and Great-Grandchildren, Tobias, Lucas, Hadley and Kinsley. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 2-5 P.M. Sunday, June 18th at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse.
