Joseph C. Nunnally

Joseph C. Nunnally, age 85, of La Crosse, WI passed away on August 26, 2026 from a long-time illness, surrounded by loved ones.

Joseph was born May 25, 1941 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Evelyn M. Wilson and Stafford B. Nunnally.

Joseph received his G.E.D. Certificate in 1993. He married Carol R. Palumbo on December 23, 1972 in Brooklyn, N.Y. and were married 33 years until Carol’s death in December of 2005. Joseph worked as a driver for Mayflower Moving Company and was also a carpenter by trade.

Joseph’s hobbies included archery, bowling, golf, and fishing. He also loved anything involving aviation. He built ultra-light aircraft and also enjoyed drawing and painting in his spare time.

Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and older brother to his siblings. He is survived by his long-time fiancé Sharon Lammert; sons Will, Todd, and Joe; step-children John and Susan; grandchildren Shane, Haley, Jessella; and great-grandson Jake. Also surviving are his two younger brothers Karl and Dean; nephews and nieces John, Karl Jr., Tony, Sherry, and their children.

Preceding him in death were his wife Carol; brother Kris; sister Sharlyn; grandson Michael Duncan; and niece Cherstin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
