Kathleen Irene (Wojahn) McHenry, 75, of Onalaska, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 25, 2025, after a brief illness. But she will forever remain in our hearts.
Kathy touched the lives of countless people and was loved by even more. She had the biggest heart and a will stronger than most. An avid reader, crime-show enthusiast, and HGTV junkie, Kathy also loved a good adventure—especially when it involved travel. She even waited until the age of 71 to try zip lining!
Kathy was happiest spending time with her husband of 19 years, Mike, and their beloved dog, Chloe. She found immense joy in baking (as did everyone lucky enough to enjoy her creations).
Throughout her life, Kathy dedicated herself to helping others and serving her God. She was an active member and volunteer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Onalaska, WI. She also gave her time to her high school alma mater, Luther High School, and to their resale shop, Good Steward, where she became a beloved fixture in the community.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Michael A. McHenry, of Onalaska, WI; her daughters, Erika Kathleen (Brian) Watson of Oconomowoc, WI, and Elissa Darlene (Scott) Zollin of Madison, WI; and her stepchildren, Rob (Shannon) Wiese of Ontario, OH, Matthew (Pawana) McHenry, and Jared McHenry.
She was a proud grandmother to Jake Zollin, Ruby Zollin, Nicholas Watson, Jack Watson, Dylan Wiese, Brandon Wiese, and Natida May.
Kathy is also survived by her sister, Darlene Nicolai, of Eau Claire, WI; and her former husband, Eric Schoenfeld, of Kendall, WI. She is further survived by many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Ed and Irene Wojahn, of Onalaska, WI, and her beloved dog, Stella.
Mike, Erika, and Elissa would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Amy Capelli, lovingly known as Kathy’s “adopted daughter,” for the constant love and support she and her family shared with Kathy over the years—especially during her final days. They also wish to thank the compassionate staff at Mayo Hospital in La Crosse for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Kathy and her family.
