Linda L. Lorenz

Linda L. Lorenz, 84, of La Crosse, WI died Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Creamery Creek Senior Living in Stoddard, WI, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 10, 1940, to Henry “Hank” and Hildegarde (Bendel) Mickschl in La Crosse. Linda was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Calvery Lutheran Church in La Crosse. She graduated from Central High School in 1958.

Linda married her high school sweetheart, Alan Lorenz, on September 7, 1963. They celebrated 61 years of marriage and were rarely far apart through their final years together. Linda attended La Crosse State College. She worked at Garvalia’s China Shop and the La Crosse Telephone Company.

Linda and Al moved to Superior, WI, in 1971, and built many lasting friendships there before returning to La Crosse in 1980. While in Superior, Linda continued her education to become an LPN. She worked at Superior Memorial Hospital, and as a nurse in La Crosse with an oral surgeon and many years in the dialysis department at Gundersen Hospital.

Linda was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished time with family. Linda was a person of deep faith. She was very creative and loved to sew, work with stained glass, and decorate her home. She enjoyed music and she was active many years in the church choir, often as a soloist. Christmas holidays were not complete without family and friends gathered around her at the piano for carols.

Linda is survived by her husband, Alan; her children, Mark (Tina) of Janesville, WI, and Joan (Jerry Jr.) Unser, of West Salem, WI; her four grandchildren, Lauren (Keegan) Meuer, Brandon (Kaleigh) Unser, Mitchell Lorenz, and Ellie Lorenz; and her four great grandchildren, Eastyn Meuer, Maddyn Meuer, Waylen Meuer, and Callen Unser. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Irene Peters and Marion Hanson, and brother-in-law, Jerry Doll; along with many nieces and nephews; and numerous dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Frank and Eva Lorenz; her sister-in-law, Linda Doll, and brothers-in-law, Wayne Peters and Tracy Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Faith (Asbury) United Methodist Church, 1818 Redfield St., La Crosse. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:30 am until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Pastor Karen Bankes and Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate the service, with burial in the Chipmunk Coulee Cemetery.
