Lorin [ Lou] Willis Wuensch of Lacrosse passed away March 25th with family at his bedside. 

Lou was born to Orlando and Delia Wuensch on June 8th, 1932 in Lacrosse. He attended Central high school graduating in 1950. He excelled in football, basketball and track at Central. Upon graduating he attended Beloit college for 1 year before joining the Air Force serving his country from 1952-1956. In 1952 he married his high school sweetheart Joanne Erickson in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Kessler Air Force Base. They had 3 children Cathi, Jennifer and Erik. 

His family was the most important part of his life. He traveled 38 times to Anchorage Alaska to visit with Cathi and her family. If there was a family event happening he would make every effort to be there for his children or grandchildren. Something very important to Lou was English Lutheran Church. He was involved in numerous committees including Church Council , Building committee, Worship and Music committee, and the Thursday morning church group that met for breakfast each week. He also sang in the choir for 50 years. Volunteering brought great pleasure to him whenever he could. He volunteered at Wafer into his 80’s and also drove a bus for Bethany St Joseph’s transporting Elderly to church and back after the service. He received the Jefferson Award for volunteers from channel 19. Lou worked for Frito Lay for 40 years as a salesman and driver . He enjoyed the job making numerous friends on his route as well as enjoying his work companions. 

He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, wife Joanne and daughter Cathi along with many other relatives. 

He is survived by daughter Jennifer (Tim)Whitman, son Erik (Jeannette)Wuensch, son in law Butch Novotney, sister in law Kathy Erickson, many nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Amy (Monte)Novotney, Kerry (Simon) Muller, Stefan (Lindsey) Novotney, Rachel (Clint) Braunel, Ben(Samantha) Berger, Jessica Ekern, Kristina Seidel, Alex(Addie)Wuensch, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday April 24th at 11 am at English Lutheran. Visitation will take place Thursday April 23rd from 5-7 and Friday morning from 10-11 before the service at the church. A luncheon will follow the service. Memorials can be given to English Lutheran Church or Wafer
