Lorraine Marie Shisler

Lorraine Marie Shisler, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday September 5, 2026. Lorraine was born on November 25, 1939 in La Crosse to George and Margaret (Halbach) Forer. She graduated from Aquinas High School in 1958. On September 3, 1960 she married the love of her life Harvey Eugene Shisler at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in La Crosse. Lorraine was employed as a candy striper at St. Francis Hospital. She later earned her CNA and began working in the maternity unit at St. Francis Hospital until the mid 1970’s. Lorraine then began an at home daycare where she lovingly cared for many children until the early 1990’s when she went to work for Quillins in the bakery until her retirement in 2003. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest passion in life was helping care for her grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her son Rick (Robyn) Shisler, daughter Patricia (Ramon) Shisler, six grandchildren: Jordan (Aiden), Alyssa, Jose, Alexa, Lorraina, Demuir, one great granddaughter; Maggie, two sister in laws: Charlotte Forer, Monica Forer, as well as a large extended family and friends who cared for and loved her deeply. Lorraine will be greeted in heaven by her husband Harvey, her parents George and Margaret, her siblings; Robert (Patricia) Forer, Helen (Raymond) Springer, Albert Forer, Raymond (Lorraine) Forer, Clarence Forer, and Dorothy (Clarence) Hegenbarth.

Lorraine’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Emplify Health Hospice Team as well as Lorraine’s niece Dawn Herald for taking such great care of her and helping to fulfill her final wishes.

A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Father Rick Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services.
