Mark Percy went home to the Lord’s loving embrace, passing away peacefully in the comfort of his home on April 13th, 2026, at the age of 72.
Mark was born on July 27th, 1953, in Madison, Wisconsin, the second of five children of Hugh and Barbara Percy. He graduated from West High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Soil Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Through mutual friends in high school, Mark met the love of his life, Debra Adams. They were married on June 11th, 1977, at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Madison. Together, they owned and operated Mickies Dairy Bar through the 1980’s while raising their growing family. Mark was a devoted husband and loving father to his eight children.
Mark’s passion for horticulture endured throughout his lifetime, creating lasting memories for his children. He taught them the rhythm of the seasons: planting, weeding, harvesting, and how to work with their hands--to build, to fix, to create. His gardens and workshops were classrooms. Whether landscaping, remodeling, or cutting trees, Mark was always busy, making furniture, baking bread, crafting home brewed wine and beer, and cheering on Wisconsin sports.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Debra, and their children: David (Jenny), Aaron, Theresa (Michael), Stephen, Michelle “Sister Angelica”, John (Carissa), Elisabeth (Eric), and Catherine; as well as twelve grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Doug (Paul), Rob (Mary), and Karen (Jeff).
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Barbara, and his sister, Judy.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Blessed Sacrament Parish in La Crosse. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Entombment will follow at Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse.
