Norma C. Platz

Norma Cecilia Platz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at the age of 91.

Born on July 30, 1933, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Norma spent her entire life in the community she loved, side by side with the love of her life, her devoted husband, Jim. Together, they shared 73 beautiful years of marriage—a true testament to enduring love, loyalty, and joy.

Norma and Jim had five children: Larry Platz (Linda), Gina Olson (Steve), Marie Ann Platz (deceased), Andy Platz (Janice), and Ann Schreck (Vince). Their legacy continues through 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Norma had a lifelong passion for music and an incredible memory for song lyrics. She was always ready to sing, and her voice often became the heart of family gatherings. She had a gift for celebration—hosting unforgettable parties filled with laughter, music, and her trademark requirement: hats, costumes, or a silly prop in hand. Norma truly came alive when she was bringing people together.

Her humor, warmth, and spirit touched everyone she met. She loved to have fun, and that spirit—so vibrant and unique—will be missed more than words can say.

Norma leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a family who will forever cherish the joy she brought into their lives.

A Mass will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 at 10:30AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Onalaska. Visitation will be from 9:30AM until the time of the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
