Pao "Paul" Yang

August 12, 1971 — March 14, 2026

Pao Txawj Zoo “Paul” Yang was born on August 12, 1971 in Laos. His family came to the United States in 1979 and he spent a good portion of his life living in La Crosse, WI.

Paul passed away on March 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and unforgettable memories. He was a man who truly embraced life—finding joy in the outdoors, good food, and, most of all, time spent with family and friends.

Paul believed life was meant to be enjoyed. He avoided drama and focused instead on what mattered most: laughter, connection, and making the most of every moment. Whether it was a simple gathering or a new adventure, he brought people together and made everyone feel welcome.

He was a God-fearing man whose faith guided the way he lived and the way he treated others—with kindness, humility, and compassion. He was a deeply caring and selfless person who touched the lives of everyone he met. His loyalty was unwavering, and he consistently went above and beyond for others, always putting their needs before his own. As the oldest sibling of five, he was fiercely protective of his family — someone who would do anything to ensure their happiness and well-being.

He had a natural curiosity about the world, always eager to see new places and meet new people. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of belonging to those around him.

Above all, Paul will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of life, and the way he made others feel valued and cared for. His impact will live on in the countless lives he touched.

Paul is survived by his parents, Cher Koua and Khu Yang; his siblings, sister, Bao Yang and her husband, Gunreet Brar, brother, Nyia “Money” Yang (Abbi Jeffers), brother, Koa “Koobie” and his wife, Taunya Yang, and sister, Gao Ger Yang and her husband, Txue Xiong; his sons, Devon Yang, Ryan Yang, and Jonah Eckert; and his beloved wife, Sara Yang. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Caroline, Connie, Magellan, Amery, Bailey, Mya, Charlie, Isaiah, Kaleb, Brianna, Kalia, Vivian, and Will.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
