Raymond J. Seufert

December 28, 1934 — December 31, 2025

Onalaska

Jesus took our father Raymond J. Seufert to heaven on New Year’s Eve 2025. At the age 91, he passed peacefully from this life into eternal glory He was born on December 28, 1934, in Sarcoxie, Missouri, to George A. Seufert and Mary (Elbert) Seufert. Raymond lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering faith, and steadfast love. He graduated from high school and proudly served his country in the United States Army. On January 31, 1959, he married Joanne Schreier, beginning a lifelong commitment rooted in devotion, sacrifice, and family. Most of Raymond’s working years were spent with the Frisco, Milwaukee, and Amtrak Railroads. His career reflected who he was at heart—dependable, trustworthy, steady and caring deeply without needing recognition. Raymond found joy in camping, dancing with a quiet smile, fishing and hunting, playing cards, and spending time with those he loved. He was grounded, thoughtful, patient, supportive, and a gentle listener—someone whose presence brought calm and reassurance. In the final hours his hands were once again holding those he loved—just as they had done for decades. Those same hands had guided, corrected, encouraged, and prayed. When his earthly work was finished, those hands were placed into the hands of Jesus.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Yvonne (Lance) Boe and Renee (Matthew) Scheafer; grandchildren Rhea (Kurt) Newman, Heather (Justin) Yahnke, Holly (Ryan) Smith, Bethany (Kent) VanSickle, and Isaiah Schaefer; nine great-grandchildren; and his special friend later in life, Nancy Kindley.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Joanne Schreier, his parents George and Mary Seufert, two brothers: Herman and Charles Seufert and one sister: Cathaline Amsworth.

We are grateful to God for the gift of our dad and we thank God for the countless memories. We will miss you dad but because of our Savior Jesus, we will see you again in heaven.
