Rosella M. Henderson

Rosella "Rosie" M. Henderson passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the age of 90. Rosie was born in April of 1936 to Ed and Margaret Richmond in Dakota, MN, and grew up as one of 18 children. Growing up in a large family helped shape the strong, hardworking, kind, and loving woman she became. She was truly the core of her family; the one who held everyone together, the one people turned to, and the one whose love made family feel like home. She had a rare gift for making others feel deeply cared for, and her warmth, strength, and laughter left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. To her grandchildren, she could do no wrong; she was their safe place, their biggest supporter, and someone they admired with all of their hearts. She gave so much of herself to the people and things she loved, and her beautiful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by a family who will carry her memory in their hearts always. Rosie is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Bruce) Doering and Linda Havlik; her grandchildren, Dena (Jamie) Durocher, Ashley Doering, and Clara (Brian), soon-to-be Gabrielson; her great-grandchildren, Alexia Durocher and Sofia Doering; her daughter of choice, Kari (Greg) Ruben; and her beloved bonus grandson, Josh, who knew her fondly as "Grandma Rosie Pie." She is reunited in peace with those who preceded her in death: her husband, Wayne Henderson; her son, Bill Henderson; her son-in-law, Roy Havlik; her parents; four sisters; two brothers; and many much loved in-laws. While her family wonders how the world will keep turning without her, they take comfort in knowing she is back with her "Baby Billy" and watching over them always. They promise to keep her spirit alive every day and strive to be the wonderful mom, grandma, and great-grandma she always was. A visitation will take place on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 111 S. Oak St., La Crescent, MN. A brief service and a special message from her grandchildren will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Dresbach, MN, with a luncheon to celebrate her life held afterward at approximately 1 pm at the Dakota Community Center, 725 Frontage Rd., Dakota, MN.
