Holmen

Sandra “Sandy” K. Bjorkman, 77, of Holmen, WI, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse, WI, on August 24, 1948, to Donald and Mary Anderson (nee Pervisky).

While staying local her whole life, Sandy worked many jobs serving her community. After graduating from Logan High School in 1967, she went on to get her Nurse’s Aide Certification and was later employed at St. Francis in La Crosse. Sandy also worked at Embers Restaurant for many years, and ended up retiring from Shopko, where she worked the service desk, bringing smiles to those around her.

Sandy married her best friend and love of her life, Tom Bjorkman, on September 13, 1969, at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse. Together, they raised a beautiful family consisting of four children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In her free time, she enjoyed music and dancing. A true flower gardening expert, she found joy in caring for her beautiful floral gardens. Sandy was also a fantastic cook and baker, with many people enjoying her delicious home-cooked meals and desserts, some even asking for seconds. Sandy even had a knack for interior design, assisting friends in choosing colors and painting their spaces to fit their needs and vision.

Sandy was the kind of person who brightened everyone’s day with her smile and kind words. She enjoyed sharing big hugs, even with those she just met. Always thinking of others first, Sandy had a genuinely caring nature. Her kindness and wisdom will continue to guide the family she raised. She was an irreplaceable treasure. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Bjorkman; two daughters, Tina (Greg) Shaw, and Laura (Chad) Hendrickson; Son, Neil Bjorkman; two sisters, Vicki Nuttelman, and Tami (Bob) Keller Neubauer; brother, Donald (Ange) Anderson; six grandchildren, Brittany, Alexis, Keauna, Janaya, Chasidy, and Easton; and four great-grandchildren, Ayden, Madalynn, Rylan, and Kaysen. Further surviving her are her mother-in-law, Joan Bjorkman; sister-in-law, Tammy Larrabee; brother-in-law, David (Minno) Bjorkman; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sandy was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Bjorkman; parents, Donald and Mary Anderson; grandparents, George (Esther) Pervisky, and Millie Frommelt; sister-in-law, Carole Anderson; and a brother-in-law, John Nuttelman.
