Shirlee Ann Allen

Shirlee Ann Allen, 84, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, April 12, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 9, 1940 in La Crosse to Harry and Ann (Miller) Harnish. Shirlee had worked at J.C. Penney in Minneapolis for many years and then at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse. She volunteered at RSVP, Viterbo, and was a “Grandma” at Hamilton Elementary School. She enjoyed going out to dinner, especially with her group of friends, and loved being out on the pontoon boat.

Shirlee is survived by her two sons, Scott (Janet) Allen and Shawn (Tina) Allen, four grandchildren, Cody (Molly) Allen, Kylie Allen, Kristen Allen and Andrew (Miranda) Allen, two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Cadence Allen, and a niece Sonya Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Inez Nelson and Juanita Smith, two brothers, Harry Harnish and Richard Graw, a brother-in-law Bert Nelson, a niece Karla Rae Smith, her significant other Sheldon Billey, and her former husband Fred Allen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation services of La Crescent. Pastor Harald Bringsjord will officiate. Burial will be in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
