Susan M. Jenkins

Susan Marie (Evenson) Jenkins, 65, of Houston, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, surrounded by her family.

Sue was born on October 8, 1960, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Donald and Sally Evenson. She attended Houston High School and spent most of her life in Houston, Minnesota, where she built deep roots with family and friends who knew her caring heart and quiet strength.

Sue loved her family deeply and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She also had a special love for her fur babies, whom she cared for as if they were her own children.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Steve) Hoskins; her son, Michael (Crystal) Wagner-Evenson; bonus sons, Josh (Colby) Jenkins and Chris Wagner; brothers, Denis (Karen) Evenson and Darrel (Roxanne) Evenson; sister, Marilyne Sand; grandsons, Tyler (Tobi) Groth, Colin (Aniya) Groth, and Wayne Jenkins; granddaughter, Iris Jenkins; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Sally Evenson, and her baby sister, JoAnne Evenson.

The family is deeply grateful to the nurses and caregivers who treated Sue with dignity and tenderness at Valley View Nursing Home, as well as Houston Community Ambulance.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
