Suzann "Sue" Balduzzi

Suzann “Sue” Balduzzi, 88, of Onalaska passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Onalaska Care Center. 

Sue was born in La Crosse to Marie (Lehen) and William Kane on September 27, 1936. She graduated from Aquinas High School, received her nursing degree from Viterbo College, and a Master of Education from UW-L in Professional Development. She married Robert “Bob” Balduzzi on October 11, 1958. Together, they raised two sons, David and Daniel, and she was a loving grandmother to her 5 grandchildren and one great-grandson. She loved traveling, visiting over 50 countries, golfing, playing bridge, participating in garden clubs, and watching her beloved Brewers. Sue started her career as a nurse at Gundersen, and after receiving her degree in teaching, she taught Nursing at WWTC (WTC). She was an accomplished writer of home health aide educational books, writing 7 throughout her retirement years. She was a devoted Catholic, member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska, and an avid Republican.

She is survived by her son, David (Sandie), his children, Nicolas, Kimberly, Michael, great-grandson Scotty, and stepson Brendan, daughter-in-law, Karen (Dan), their children, Annie and Allison, and sister Patty (Soo) Too Tan. Preceded in death by her husband, Bob, sons Dan and Joseph (infant), parents, and brother, Jack.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 24, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Onalaska, with Monsignor Steven Kachel officiating. Family and friends may come from 10a.m. until the time-of-service Monday, at the church. There will be a celebration of life at the Onalaska American Legion, immediately following the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Aquinas Catholic Schools and the American Cancer Society. Special thanks to the staff at Onalaska Care Center and Eagle Crest North for their wonderful care.
