Thomas R. Munk

Thomas Robert Munk, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Riverside Transitional Care in La Crosse. Tom was born October 10, 1942 in La Crosse, WI to Robert and Virginia Munk and was a big brother to three siblings.

Tom graduated from Aquinas High School in La Crosse before attending the University of Notre Dame. He then served in the United States Army before marrying Carol (Ormsby) Munk and having two daughters. He spent many years helping individuals who had addictions and their families. He enjoyed spending time with family, taking us to Rudy's, reading, playing cards, watching Jeopardy, making his "Tom's Terrific Hot Fudge" and watching his favorite football teams - the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Green Bay Packers.

Tom is survived by his two daughters, Deirdre Klotz and Erin (Nick) Benz; five grandchildren, Keenan Klotz, Megan Klotz, Miles Klotz, Connor Benz and Mallory Benz; and two sisters, Mary Ellen (Dominick) Peloso and Sara Munk.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Munk; parents, Robert and Virginia Munk; and brother, Kevin Munk.

He was blessed to have received such wonderful care at Riverside Transitional Care and SpringBrook Assisted Living.

A Mass of Cristian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, August 14th, 2026 at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse. Visitation will be held an hour before Mass at the church.
