Vera Irene Wensole

Vera Irene Wensole (94) of La Crosse, WI passed away on February 9th, 2026 after a hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s.

Vera was born on January 5th, 1932 in La Crosse, WI to Alvin & Bertha Wensole. She grew up in La Crosse, graduated from Central High School.

After graduation, she worked at Ed Phillips & Son in La Crosse then went to Luther College in Decorah, IA, for 31 years working in the Financial Services Office.

After retiring in 1996 Vera returned to La Crosse and spent her time bowling, knitting and volunteering at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Vera was predeceased by her parents, her brother Donald, her three sisters Margaret (Richard) Turner, Beverly (Leroy) Brown and Shirley (Ralph) Horn.

She is survived by her nieces Debra (Gary) Wold, Karen (John) Mault, as well as two great nieces Mariah Wold and Stephanie Honeycutt.
