Virginia Caroline Asleson

Virginia Caroline (Putz) Asleson, 82, of Holmen passed away on Thursday, May 22nd at the Mayo System Healthcare Hospital in La Crosse.

She was born on March 23, 1943, in Winona, MN to Herman and Alma (Mueller) Putz and was a graduate of Cochrane-Fountain City High School and Winona Cosmetology School. Virginia was a beautician for many years, working at the Little Brown Jug and Pam’s Design Perfection in La Crescent, MN.

Virginia had many wonderful roles in her lifetime, as a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew and loved her. She had deep faith and was a member of the Holmen Lutheran Church and enjoyed getting to know friends through church. Virginia’s hobbies included reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, word find books and enjoyed visiting with friends and family.

Virginia is lovingly survived by children, Janine Fann (Dwayne), Austin, TX; Angie (John) Douglas, Bangor, WI; Tim (Karen) Asleson, Belle Plaine, MN; Laureen (Paul) Hartig, Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Zachariah Gutierrez, Austin, TX; Joshua Ernst, Hudson, WI; Mariah Ernst, La Crosse, WI; Rachel Douglas, River Falls, WI, Mitchell Douglas, Onalaska, WI; Anna Sorenson (Shawn); siblings, Joanne Putz, St. Paul, MN; David Putz, St. Paul, MN; Allen (Rita) Putz, Austin, MN; Diane (Jim) Baures, Buffalo City, WI and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Odell, daughter, Lisa Alderson, and sister Sharon Pozanc.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 at the Holmen Lutheran Church starting at 9:30 am until the service at 11:00 am, with burial immediately following at the Green Mound Cemetery.

We thank all the caring and compassionate healthcare staff at Mayo Clinic Healthcare System and the Onalaska Care Center that provided exceptional care to our mother the last few weeks.
