Warren W. “Ty” Tyson, age 84, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 7, 2026. He was born on February 11,1941, to Charles and Evelyn (Vold) Tyson in Little Fork, Minnesota.
His family later moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin and made it their home. He graduated from Central High school in 1959, where he excelled in many sports, especially football. He later served in the Army National Guard. He was united in marriage to Charlotte A. Lichtie on November 30, 1963. She was the love of his life and dance partner for 43 years. They had four children Lisa (David) Genson, Brian Tyson, Teri Pataska, and Nicole (Edward) Jones. Their family has grown to include 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Ty loved fishing on the rivers and being surrounded by beautiful bluffs. He was an avid and excellent golfer. He spent many days on the courses and loved the challenge of the game. He drove buses for years transporting Human Service clients, and students to activities. It was something he truly enjoyed and took great pride in, knowing he was helping others each day.
Ty will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, legendary dance moves, and his love of flowers and sandy beaches. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the generations who loved him.
He is survived by his children, sister Sherry Stokes, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Charlotte, and sister Julie Ducharme.
